Virginia GED ® Success Stories: October 2013

Robert Moore Robert Moore Checklist Robert Moore Map

Robert Moore dropped out of high school in the eleventh grade. Years later, he realized he was dissatisfied with his life. He knew he needed to obtain a GED® test credential before enrolling in college. He contacted the adult education program in Appomattox and did extremely well on a GED® practice test. He also discovered that he had a knack for writing stories and wrote one every night to share with his teachers. One of his poems was selected for publication in a national poetry contest. Robert earned his GED® test credential in 1996. He began his own business, Advantage Excavating Service (AES), in 1998 and earned an associate‚Äôs degree in civil engineering technologies from Central Virginia Community College in 2004. In 2005, he incorporated AES and relocated to Lynchburg, Virginia. In 2009, he started Dallas Moore Enterprise and, in 2011, he purchased BEMCO Trucking.
